I thought I’d ask some of my co-workers here at Closet Couture to share some of their most stressful wardrobe experiences when meeting the parents of a significant other. Classified under the category of the ‘maximum stress wardrobe scenario,’ meeting the parents can be tricky. But with our strategic outfitting planning agenda, we’ve got you covered to look classy and beautiful for a variety of some of the most challenging meet the parent scenarios.
City Girl Goes Country:
Looking stylish should be translatable for comfort and convenience, especially in this type of scenario. While dress to impress may be a different mantra for you urban fashionistas, we’ve come up with an outfit so you can maintain your stylish presence even in the countryside. We suggest pairing a Luella Godfrey blouse with Vanessa Bruno’s detailed trousers and Chloe’s interwoven red sandals. Accessorize with Erickson Beamson’s Gypsy sun earrings and a Halston shoulder bag.
The Sunday Brunch Scenario:
The key to presenting your Sunday brunch best is a classic look that reflects your personal style. For spring pairing a floral Erdem Laverna skirt with a classic white tee is a great combination. Judging the nature of this particular Sunday brunch, choose between flats or heels- we’ve selected Lanvin metallic cross sandals or Miu Miu’s strappy sandals. VIVRE’s sterling silver bangle and this Burberry willow leather clutch is a nice touch to pull everything together.
Family Reunion Situation:
It is important to be prepared to be comfortable to endure a potentially less than relaxing situation. Depending on the location, we’ve selected two looks that have you fashionably covered. If the reunion takes place at a park, for instance, we suggest pairing jeans with this Moschino Cheap & Chic neck tie cardigan. In the event that you’ve been assigned babysitting duties, we’ve selected these chic Lanvin satin sneakers, just in case.
