Packing List: Ski Vacation

Moncler puffer? Check. Navy ski pants? Check. Bean boots to get you from the lodge to the condo? Check. We figure you’ve got your slope style down, but when the temps are hovering around 10 below, what do you pack for après-ski—or NYE—when all you can think about is staying warm? Here’s what we’ll be packing:

First and foremost, we think outerwear and cozy knits are key. We’ll be taking a soft shearling—totally versatile, and great with everything from jeans to slightly more elegant evening attire—and sweaters in simple shapes and neutral colors—like these cardigans from Martin Margiela and Phillip Lim. We’ll carry VPL’s heavy gauge cashmere wrap—another great option that will work either day or night—as a blanket on the plane.

For most evenings, we imagine a pair of jeans or leggings and a fun blouse will suffice—so we’ll pack a few easy tops, like these from Vanessa Bruno, Rachel Comey, and Jane Mayle—plus, our favorite bottoms from Golden Goose and Rag & Bone. Just in case—we’re thinking New Year’s Eve—we’ll toss in our long black dress from Rose. It’s perfect combination of glamour and comfort—two words you don’t exactly hear together all that often.
