Amidst the color riots of this season and last, Rachel Roy's latest collection for spring was a cool, chic customer. The color palette is made up of mainly black and white with small, effective details of color. And not the neon pops that look amazing in the pages of the glossy, but make me feel incredibly self consious when on. Rather, these are details like belts, trim, contrast piping and hand painting.
Ms. Roy went over to Asia for her inspiration, right to my favorite place, Vietnam (see a feature on me and my trip there in January on my friend Sarah's fab blog Hotel Chic). The collection takes elements of the Vientamese style that always look appealing to the Western eye, but how often can we really walk around in an Ao Dai?
Even better, the styles look sophisticated and timeless, and in the rapidly raging torrent of change in fashion these days, who could ask for more? You can buy current items from Rachel's collection here.
Favorites? Mine are above.
