NYC Chocolate Fashion Show

File this under possibly too much of a good thing – on the chocolate side, that is.

The New York Chocolate Fashion Show was just held in New York and pastry chefs and chocolate makers went all out – couture style – and created entire outfits made of chocolate. I guess it's a girls dream come true, but all I can think about is what M&M's always advertised – that they melt in your mouth, not in your hands. Can you imagine what's happening here?

New Features Announcement

Dear Closet Couture members,

We have been hunkered down for the past few weeks adding some new features to ensure your Closet Couture experience is as easy, fun and helpful as possible. Here is a quick round up of the major features we tweaked:

To Get Started

To help you get started using Closet Couture, we curated several personality closets that you can add to your wardrobe. On My Homepage, simply select the personality that fits you best and we'll stock your virtual closet. Then you quickly start having fun making, saving and sharing your outfits in the Dressing Room.

Sharing outfits

When you save an outfit from the Dressing Room into your Albums, you can also post them to your Facebook profile – just click the Facebook icon next to the outfit in the album. You can also email the outfits to your friends – just use the “Email” button also next the the outfit.

Improvements to the Calendar

When you click on Calendar now you can add individual events to the Calendar, not just adding the outfits. Just and add an event. Share your closet and calendar with your friends and get them to pick out a fabulous outfit for your event.

Sharring Packing Lists and Wish Lists

Friends can now see your wishlist and your packing list when they look at your profile (top righthand side). Make sure you set your Privacy settings in your My Account area to reflect your preferences.

Finally, we would love for you to nominate us for Best Design Award at theCrunchies (the TechCrunch annual awards) and be a Closet Couture fan on Facebook.

With your continued support and feedback, we are continuing to add more features to make Closet Couture an even better place to shop and choose outfits and style each other.

I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, and see you on the site,

Chris Elia

A Minute With: Kime Buzzelli

Kime Buzzelli has long been an influential fashion force in Los Angeles, running the show with her charmingly cool east side boutique, Show Pony. Devoted to the bygone eras of fashion, Kime’s personal style is not only reflected in her wardrobe, but in her artwork as well. She creates paintings inspired by fashion, music, and the make believe, and frequently collaborates with major brands such as Vans and Zune Arts, dreaming up dazzling illustrations for various products. We caught up with Kime for a Q & A session on her personal style.

1) Who or what influences your style?
I guess I am influenced by compositional elements, similar to painting. I like layering things, opposing color schemes, asymmetry, surrealism – ha ha. Who? I'd say my influences are Zandra Rhodes, Annie Hall, Ziegfeld Follies, and the Maries in the movie DAISIES!

2) What's the one item in your closet that you can't live without?

The most useless, of course! I have this super old insane Cockettes dress constructed of old doilies. It's from the late ‘60s or early ‘70s and screams Trashy Flapper.

3) Who are your favorite designers?
I love Bill Gibb, Zandra Rhodes, Poiret, Biba, Tsumori Chisato, and Galliano.

4) What was your most recent luxe purchase?

Besides a new car!? I recently purchased for myself an expensive ring from an estate sale dating back to the 1800's. It has a lovely art deco-like band.

5) What do you think about the current state of fashion?

I kinda like the way people have been liberated to wear whatever and carry their freak flag, however I'm interested to see women stop wearing shapeless things and return to the sexy siren style of Brigitte Bardot!

6) What can we expect next from Kime Buzzelli?

I'm doing a lot of new art projects – like t-shirts with the label Blood is the New Black, Urban Decay makeup packaging, and this winter my snowboard comes out from Monument. In my spare time, I'm just working on paintings for an upcoming show and making koo koo accessories for myself.
