Did you know you can create packing lists for future trips?

To do so, click on any item in your closet, and when the “Edit This Item” Box appears, click on the “Pack It” Tab. There, you can create a new packing list for an upcoming trip, and assign it to a date on your calendar. When opening up future items in your closet, you can either pack the item to a list you’ve already created, or create a new list for a new trip.

Fashion Do: White After Labor Day

Attached Blog ImageAttached Blog ImageAttached Blog Image

The fashion world can be a little bit silly with all of its imperatives, but there’s one in particular it’s time to dispel: the rule about no white after Labor Day. We love winter white, especially in nubby wool or super-soft cashmere. While we wouldn’t suggest a head-to-toe look, and would advise steering clear of anything that would be appropriate on a beach, a bit of white can freshen up any ensemble. A couple of our favorite items:

Vanessa Bruno White Fur Vest: The perfect layering piece for a Saturday afternoon. We love this taken in a slightly ’70s direction, with a fitted turtleneck layered underneath. Add a great pair wide leg jeans, and a chunky gold cuff for a perfect finish. Available at LaGarconne.com.

Chloe Python Bay Bag: While white leather can often be a bit tricky, Chloe’s Bay Bag in Python is perfectly executed. We love the off-white color, the shiny gold hardware, and the heavy stitching. It would make the perfect day bag, and is big enough to throw in all of your essentials! Available at Net-a-Porter.com.

RM by Roland Mouret Pigalle Wool Dress: A chic dress that translates well from day to night. Keep it simple, but add a great pair of black pumps—we see something with a buckle detail and a slightly pointed toe—and a belted coat. Available at Net-a-Porter.

Summer Style Q & A: Eva Jeanbart-lorenzotti

We absolutely love global citizen and style maker Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti. She’s the visionary and driving force behind the multifaceted world of Vivre. By focusing on living with style through carefully cultivated collections of one-of-a-kind and unexpected pieces found around the world, Eva has created an alternate universe of fantastic escape via a highly personalized shopping experience. With a growing online presence, Vivre.com offers hundreds of new products each season, as well as new editorial stories every week.

Stay tuned to Vivre's closet—found in our Retailers section—for special offers, new products and fabulous tips! Just in time for Labor Day (and in our case, time at the beach), we caught up with Eva and asked her a few questions about looking great in the final weeks of summer.

CC: What should a woman wear to a fabulous summer evening party? Color? Fabric? Style? Accessories? Shoes?
Eva: I really think summer is all about playing with color. From fun jewelry to a flowy top with white jeans, summer dressing should be about being adventurous and having movement in your clothing.

CC: How can a woman wear a swimsuit with style? What accessories, jewelry (a simple gold chain?), shoes, and even clothing works over a swimsuit?
Eva: I think you have to be careful when it comes to accessorizing a bathing suit, as it is easy to overdue it. I think a long bohemian-looking necklace is very chic with a bathing suit. I also love the simplicity of a long linen shirt, partly open.

CC: How do you transition from a day on the beach to evening cocktails?
Eva: For me it is about adding a bit of glamour, whether it be through my jeweled flats or a fabulous cuff. It can be as simple as adding a necklace or two, carrying a fantastic clutch, putting your hair down and adding a bit of lipstick.

CC: Is there anything new to say about footwear at the beach?
Eva: Absolutely no heels at the beach! I do love espadrilles and think you should pick fun colorful shoes to show off your pedicure! I love metallics but always in flats.

CC
: Tunics and caftans? What fabrics work? Any new colors or prints to watch out for this summer? Is there a new way to wear them? Are they done?
Eva: There are a few looks that I love when it comes to tunics or caftans; Either very long and open, sleeves cuffed with fabulous jeweled flats or short linen, maybe even belted. I also love sheer caftans with colorful embroidery.

CC: And finally, what’s your favorite thing about Closet Couture?
Eva: What is not to love? It is a fantastic and very fresh concept and encourages creativity in all of us…and for those who are not feeling so creative, there are experts readily available to ensure you are always looking your best!

Packing List: Labor Day Weekend In Nantucket

Attached Blog ImageAttached Blog ImageAttached Blog Image

We know, it’s hard for us believe, too: summer is almost over! But, that means Labor Day is upon us—and it’s time for a weekend trip. We’re a bit behind on our packing duties, but Closet Couture to the rescue! The packing list function is perfect for getting organized.

We’re heading to Nantucket, and are looking forward to a weekend of relaxation, time on the beach, and one major event—a clambake on Sunday. Below, a selection from our Labor Day Weekend packing list:

Luella Eastwood Cashmere Cardigan: A great color, and perfect for keeping warm when the night turns chilly! Available at Net-a-Porter.com.

J. Crew Tanks: We’ve been living in these all summer—so great for layering—and perfectly paired with flirty printed skirts for a cute beach cover-up. Available at J. Crew.com

Juicy Couture Striped Jacket: We absolutely love nautical stripes, and plan to wear this to our Sunday clambake layered over a T and navy shorts, with super high wedge sandals. Available at Net-a-Porter.com.

Of course, we’ll also be adding our favorite white jeans, a couple of bikinis, and standout accessories—we’re thinking a great floppy hat and a serious statement necklace—to our weekender.

Happy Packing!

Olympic Withdrawal?

Attached Blog ImageAttached Blog ImageAttached Blog ImageAttached Blog ImageAttached Blog Image

The Olympics is an extraordinary event that has kept us all captivated for the last two weeks. I don’t know if this is true for everyone, but somehow, by watching Olympic athletes compete in their events, I felt that I was right there with them, and that perhaps I could skip my afternoon workout that day (or for two weeks).
Well, apparently that is not that case, and watching runners break world records is not the same as going for a jog. I am guessing that some chic new workout gear might be just enough to get me out the door and to they gym…at least until Gossip Girl starts its Fall Season. Here are five great athletic pieces that should get us to the gym, and if not, they look good as loungewear too.

Before Moulin Rouge and Folies Bergere, there was Désir, the jewel of Paris.

The ultimate meeting place for showgirls and soldiers, bejeweled courtesans and maharajahs, Désir is a new theatrical world devoted to all things beautiful, seductive and acrobatic. It is the ultimate unexpected New York night. Framed by glistening water, the incredible skyline, and the waterfalls of South Street Seaport, the surroundings magically match the beauty of the show inside.

The stellar creative team includes former Sydney Theatre Company director Wayne Harrison, choreographer John “Cha Cha” O’Connell (Strictly Ballroom, Moulin Rouge, Enchanted, “2008 Academy Awards Presentation”) and music director Josh Abrahams (Moulin Rouge).

By combining sensuality and innovation, Désir has brought alive the rich history of the House of Boucheron and the magic of jewelry, with world-class performers in an intimate setting. There is even a traveling pop-up store, Boutique Désir, which will accompany the show's tour through the U.S. Jewelry and spectacle: what's not to love?

This is a show not to be missed and runs In New York City now until November 2.

Ten Things I Love: Anne Ziegler

Attached Blog ImageAttached Blog ImageAttached Blog Image

It's Monday, and that means it's time for another profile of someone behind the scenes here at Closet Couture. Here, Anne Ziegler, our resident Style Director:

Favorite Designer(s)?
Top of my list are Isabel Marant for laid back basics, Mayle (so sad, she is closing down shop!!!) for timeless tops and dresses, Marni for quirky prints and accessories and Miu Miu for a more refined look and their amazing trench coats!

Jeans?

Vintage Levis, Ksubi, Rogan, and I have a great pair of Helmut Lang jeans that I l-o-v-e.

Day Uniform?

Navy Isabel Marant skirt, white LnA t-shirt tucked in, Marni belt, Sigerson Morrison flat sandals and a Miu Miu tote bag.

Night Uniform?
Tracey Feith Floral printed t-shirt dress paired with an Elizabeth and James black blazer, Louboutin strappy summer wedges and a quilted black Chanel purse

Fragrance?
Frederic Malle Carnal Flower, and I love the Kiehl’s musk oil.

Favorite Fall Trend?:
Cashmere is always a Fall trend and it always ranks high on my list—I especially love Inhabit’s cashmere sweaters. This season I love the floral trend and I am definitely in the market for a great vest (if anyone has any suggestions!). But I have to say, I am not crazy about the zipper front dress trend.

Inspiration?:
Living in New York, its easy to find inspiration in everything, but I find that I am most drawn in by colors and textiles…whether I come across these elements in an advertisement, in a girl’s outfit, in a jewelry store, it doesn’t seem to matter — I always catch myself in the same state of awe. I am also fascinated with collages…any kind.

Favorite Shopping Site?
I love LaGarconne—they carry the best labels and the products are so well edited—I want just about everything they have! And to be honest, ever since they started shipping stateside, I love hopping on Topshop’s website for fun dresses and tops (plus no on in New York will have the same thing….until of course, they open their Flagship in October, and the jig is up)

Favorite Vacation Spot/Hotel?
Sun Valley, ID in the summer—the weather is amazing, the restaurants are great, and vibe is relaxed so it really feels like vacation. And it’s light out until 9pm so you can do everything you want in a day and still fit a nap in!!

Favorite thing about Closet Couture?
No question…..the WISH LIST! The wishlist is so genius because you can keep everything that you are dying for in one place—and the best part is if you are lucky enough to attain any of these items, they will drop right into your closet.
