I have a job interview for a major fashion company in NYC. For the last 3 years I worked at a company where we could dress casual everyday, so I don't have any thing that is career current. Also, I'm well over 50 and have to look fashion right, but not like I'm trying to look too young. I also have a limited budget to spend on a new wardrobe.
Don't even bother to look in my closet for suggestions. I haven't updated it since summer. |

For your job interview, just keep everything simple and classic. A suit is perfect. A white blouse with a dark skirt is perfect. A simple solid-colored dress is perfect.
Wear hose and medium-heel pumps. Carry a small purse and a professional tote or portfolio that contains your resume and blank paper and pen to take notes with. Keep all your accessories classic and minimal, like small gold hoop earrings or a pearl necklace, and a watch. Good luck! Barbara Jill |

Hi SimSue,
Perhaps think of having one slightly quirky element to your outfit... Maybe some black shoes to match the suit, but with some interesting detailing? For example, a quirky heel, three straps etc. Good luck for the interview! |

I agree with the advice above, SimSue - don't forget something that makes you stand out a bit - and if you have Navy or Gray instead of black skirt, I think that might work better - black and white seems standard, and if you are going to major fashion house, you need to be a bit more on trend. Good luck and let us know what happens!! xx Chris

Great. Love the idea of grey or navy. I'll be VERY confident in what I'll be wearing and know the pros helped me pull it together. Thank you and i'll keep you posted.
