Okay CC peeps, So i've been having a discussion with a few friends lately re: The appropriateness of HL dress at a wedding. (assuming due respect is made to the HL and it is the correct size, not too small/short for the body shape....) Is it appropriate to wear a herve leger bandage dress to a wedding? Assuming that no one wants to outshine the bride.... (i mean, HL is a gorgeous dress and all) is it too much to wear to a wedding? I'm hoping to wear the attached outfit (see link below for my 'look') to a friend's wedding coming up but wondering if it's too colourful/ flashy/ couture/ tight.......? I definitely am not a very busty individual so it's not like it will be a show and tell with tightness/boobage. ... and the plan is to wear my Elizabeth & James blazer with it. What do you think? Should i add dark tights to bring it down a notch? Thanks!

I am a huge Herve Leger fan, collected some vintage Leger dresses. I love that dress you plan to wear too. Ok, I personally worn a vintage Herve Leger dress from the early 90s to my sister in law's wedding in Istanbul in 2002. The dress is mauve in color and not very "bandage" (I guess you know what I mean). My sister in law is a very confident woman, so of course she doesn't have a problem; at the wedding there are quite a few friends who works in PR, marketing and fashion, so everyone adored my dress of course.
If at my wedding reception, one of my beautiful girlfrienda had worn that dress, I would be totally impressed! I think as long as the bride is a confident person (guess you know what I mean too), and lots of guests are in your age group, open minded and admire fashion and beauty, your dress will be spot on. If there are more older guests, just put your blazer on. |

Totally agree with the always fabulous fabulousnobody. I think the bright color lightens the "bandage-ness" of the dress.
Here's the outfit, so everyone can see - how you get it here is to click the "<> embed" button and copy the "message" code, and paste it here... easy but not obvious ;) ![]() View Details & More Outfits >> |
