So, it's only a 4 hour flight, but I am still wondering about something comfy and quite stylish. It doesn't have to be fancy just think "decent" for the airport.

I was thinking of polo top, but not sure what bottoms. Any suggestions would be widely appreciated :)

This is what I wear almost always on the plane. I have a couple of issues that make this ideal. One, I tend to be a little tight, timing-wise, and thus tend to get dirty when I am rushing out of a cab or bumping against those luggage carts (which are filthy). Second, I have been spilled on a couple of times by seat-mates.... annoying, yes, but worse when wearing light colors. And, I get really cold on flights, so I need a couple of layers - I would also add a scarf to boot. The monochromatic look I think travels well and makes it harder to figure out how long you have been rocking the look!

I think Chris is right on the money with her airport outfit. My take is this... no sweats/yoga pants/etc. (no! no! no!) but go with garments that are stretchy and blanket-y so I can move and also be covered. (The pants i picked are legging jeans... leggings can be good, too, if you're into the legging look). And I'm all about sunglasses in the airport if it's early because who wants to put on makeup in the morning and then fall asleep and smear mascara all over your face and arrive a bigger wreck than when you took off. And i like to have a watch on so I don't have to be forever pulling out my phone to check the time when i'm dilly dallying over magazines. And, for feet's sake, wear flat shoes that require socks because... bare feet? ew!

Thankyou!!!! I think I am all sorted now! Yes into the leggings look, I hadn't even thought about them! Thankyou alyson for the sunglasses suggestion, time to get the sunglasses out. Also going to go with the watch, so i'll have to shop around for a new one because I am a fuss pot about which ones to choose. Finally, I too hate the bare feet, I don't even like looking at my own so why on earth would I want to look at somebody elses!!!!

Also Chris thanks, I LOVE that bracelet!! And I am all ears on the layering up I hate cold flights. Also going to take on the scarf idea, I especailly love turning them into headwear on the holiday to keep my long hair out of the way!!

Thanks again for the replies, I have been debating about this for a while and the holiday is 6 weeks off! (Call me a organisation freak! I like planning ahead)

Wish I could get it! ... But unfortunatly being at college, not in a job. Means relying on parents. It will all be worth it when I am older and at university studying for my Law degree! I hope!

Maybe I will have to try and find a slightly cheaper version!

I'm on planes A LOT, so I definitely have my airplane style rules that work for me. There's nothing worse than being crammed in between two people on a 757 and being uncomfortable, or a freshly dry cleaned outfit and with a little bit of turbulence your orange juice is all over you. Just no point. So for starters, comfortable fabric is key, whether that's jersey or leggings, just make sure you can sit down and have a little stretch room. For shoes, I always wear flats, they're easy to take off at security, and also a believer in socks (especially when you have to walk through security without shoes....icky, also airplane bathrooms and let's just not even go there). I too find that I'm either too warm, or uncomfortably cold, so I usually wear a cami or lightweight t-shirt with a long cardigan or sweater over that.

Yesterday I flew from LA to Boston, and I wore comfy white linens pants with flats, a blue cami with my most versatile and favorite cardigan, my watch as usual, and a huge tote bag for some serious fashion magazine catch-up reading.

No matter what I wear on the plane, I love having a lightweight cashmere hoodie with me- its warm and cozy, folds down to fit in your carryon, and is WAY better than thoze skeezy airplane blankets!

Brilliant! Thankyou so much courtneygrace and erikastyle.
Both fanstastic recommendations, I am going shopping over the weekend so I will keep an eye out for all these items, think I will need to buy a hoodie also it seems to be favoured. I usually just wore a cardigan but It's a great excuse to go out and buy a new hoodie. Thanks again for the advise, I think I am going to be well prepared for the airport!

I was actually having some airplane outfit issues too and i am really enjoying everyone's suggestions. I am a bit nervous about which outfits would look the best and handle the wear and tear for a 10 hour flight i have coming up. My problem is i want to look refreshed and cute when i land in Hawaii but i still want to be sensible. I want to wear an outfit that i won't be cold in on the plane but still look summer vacation ready when i reach.

if the flight is long i would say bring an extra dress.
so when you arrive you can switch into it.

like a 10 hour flight i would feel really dirty.
so i love to bring an outfit to switch into after a long ride
