Hi Everyone,
I'm starting to pack for a trip to Peru and wondering what to take with me. I'll be there for two weeks, but I don't want to overpack because I know I'll be bringing stuff back with me. The weather is transitioning from summer to fall, so it will be slightly warm and even a little cool at night. What key pieces should I take with me - things that I can mix and match and run around in? Thanks! |

i have never been to South America, let along Peru, but I would imagine that you would treat it like Europe in the fall - still warm in the day but cooler at night. Longer dresses with cardigans would work, plus the scarf / wrap combo would work well so you are always comfortable and chic. I also would bring a couple of pants and sweater combo's because if you go up in elevation, it is always colder.
Enjoy , and take lots of pictures! |

I'm all about bringing a few versatile wraps... going from scarf to wrap to towel or seat cover (traveling is always mucky). And i always take a hands-free bag (i'm a satchel girl) that fits an extra layer, a guide book, camera, a snack, etc., that's cute but not so nice that i mind marking it up a bit. I mean, a girl never knows when she's going to have to go all Macguyver when traveling or, at least, swing herself onto the back of a moped taxi and hang on to the driver for dear life.
You're going to have so much fun! |

my boyfriend is from peru. the weather right now will be cooler, in the lower 70s and even down to the 50s at night. being a cool-natured person myself, i would advise bringing simple, long dresses for the day and one or two jackets for the evening. also, jeans and tee shirts never fail. be sure to bring comfortable shoes for walking around the city. peru, even in the city, is very poor, so i wouldn't wear anything too flashy. as an american, you'll still be regarded as rich, but there's no need to broadcast it. for your own safety :)
