maybe shoulder pads? though, they do look great on the runway/on a model, but I am just not sure it will translate into an attractive style off the runway.

Crocs make no sense, not even on gardeners. Why????????? No one has ever been able to explain this to me sensibly.

I am a bit of an admitted shoe snob. Shoes are a method of expression. Shoes are art. Beautiful shoes can be all of this and comfortable.

Uggs I get (comfort, warmth, natural materials, great slippers, ok to wear out on occasion). Ok, I admit that the first pair of Uggs that I saw in public in the '90s was a bit shocking. It was at least 90 degrees F outside and the wearer had her jeans tucked into them in the dead of summer. I thought it was strange, sloppy and a bit bedroom slipper'ish. Years later, I tried on a pair and was sold. Now, when I get home from a long day at work, off come the high heels and on go the Uggs. There has even been an occassion when I could not bear to take off the Uggs. I wore them out in public (once to the grocery store to shop and another time to get local Chinese food - I was a bit off that night leaving my Giuseppe Zs, ESLs and other faves in the closet).

That said,I am absolutely certain that my feet will venture to try on crocs.

While leggings proved that strong comebacks are possible (shoulder pads are following), thick bright colored rubber shoes that are not even cute on young children are flat out ridiculous in my opinion.

Hehe--I'd have to say Crocs, too, but then I'm not a chef or a nurse, so maybe I don't know anything...

Another trend that puzzles me: Heavy, heavy, dark shoes with chiffon floral dresses. I know that a strong shoe is supposed to balance out all the froth--but, really! I think this trend makes even the most petite of foot look a little bit Minnie Mouse. Another strike against Crocs, come to think of it. Minnie-Mouse city!
