In the most recent issue of Elle Magazine they showed Harem Pants. I could never wear those (too short) but the only person I've ever seen try to didn't pull it off. Are those going to be a trendy item? If so how could one attempt to wear them?

These are definitely a trendy item and will probably last a couple of seasons. I would go for some that don't have a super low drop-crotch and that don't have a lot of extra baggy fabric on the sides. Topshop has some great ones on their site. I would also try H & M if you live near one. Hope that helps!

I agree... it's all about how they taper at the ankle. The wrong length and cuff width and the whole look falls apart. But if you get it right (for me, it's all about a very narrow cuff) they can wear-them-every-day good.

You can try some on in stores to see what cut is best for you. Harem pants are fun to wear. Usually it's all about finding the perfect cut for your shape. However, if you feel uncomfortable in them, or you feel they don't flatter you, I wouldn't wear it. The best way to have a great outfit is to find something you feel pretty and comfortable in. Sticking with a classic pant that YOU feel good in makes an outfit much better. Just because something is a trend, doesn't mean you HAVE to wear it.

They are a harder item to pull off..however, if worn the right way I think they could be really attractive. I just tried some on yesterday at BCBG and didn't end up buying them because the cut was awkward for me at mid-calf because I'm pretty short but If they hit you at the right lengh on the leg and you pair them with something that looks fantasic on top, they could be really great. I don't like to buy anything I'm not comfortable in or have to constantly adjust so maybe other women are having the same problems with them.
