I know how to get wine stains out of most clothing, with the exception of silk. Does anyone know how to remove wine from a white silk blouse?
Thanks! |

I haven't used this product myself but the testimony from editors in all kinds of magazines seems pretty rock solid.
You might want to try it on a non-stained area first and see if it leaves a residual circle. This chemical-free spray gently removes wine stains from everything from silk blouses to heavy upholstery. 888-946-3292 - www.wineaway.com You know what they say about white blouses and red wine .... never! |

I am a huge fan of WineAway, and can definitely attest to its effectiveness on any surface (silk, carpets, linen) - even red wine on white.
I usually use it when the stain is fresh, and then wash it out - always works. If it's dried, I'm not sure, but it's chemical free (mostly citrous, by the smell of it) so wouldn't be too worried about spraying a couple times and then sending off to the dry cleaners. Definitely would use the WineAway first, as dry cleaners will probably use a ton of chemicals that are more likely to harm the fabric. If ever in a situation where you don't have WineAway, treat with white wine first (the acid counter-acts the staining from the red!), then pile salt on it to draw out the moisture (i.e. stain) as much as possible. |
