I really like the idea for this website! Luckily I have had photographs of all my clothes for years, but this is a much easier way to plan outfits.
I have a few ideas. First, I don't know if you could, but if you could put the actual thumbnail photo of the outfit on the day its assigned in the calendar, that would be great. Then I could just look at the calendar and see the outfit I wore without having to click "Saved Outfit(s)." Second, since we have the ability to edit our clothes after uploading and picking the color, it would be a lot easier if they were sorted based on color (this is how I sort my clothes on my computer). That way all the pinks would be together if I wanted to find a pink top. It might also be nice if you could choose what category you wanted them to be sorted as (in each sub-category, an example being Accessories). This way you could group all black tops together, all brown bags together, etc. or you could put all Gucci purses together. Also, I wish you could edit outfits without having to start over. It looks like people have already suggested this stuff, but I just thought I'd suggest it too. Thanks! |

I’m new to the site—and I’m loving it, thank you for providing this service!—so I apologize if these features exist and I just haven’t figured them out yet. I’m still in the process of trying to populate my closet, and I would love to have the “wish list” items show up in my closet, either as a separate wish list category of clothing, or in a regular category perhaps with a wish list tag (the way a site like shopbop.com denotes its editor’s picks, for example). (I ended up putting some of my wish list items in my closet, too, just so I can see them, but I feel like I’m lying or something!)
It would also be nice for the user to be able to drag and drop the items in the closet and can pick the order in which they appear (and maybe also an option of how many items to display per category when viewing the entire closet). That way a basic, such as a pair of jeans you wear once a week, would show up before, say, a great pair of satin tuxedo pants that you nly wear on occasion. (I’m hoping to have a full closet one day!) It would even be great that have “sub-closets,” such as a seasonal closet or a formal dress closet, with the ability for the user to customize whether, how, and when those “sub-closets” are displayed within the context of the larger closet. Re the average usability of an advanced crop box: sometimes it’s possible to “pull” a “box” one way or another. For instance, the makeover application at instyle.com lets you try on celebrity hairstyles over an image of your face and “pull” the hair out of your eyes, etc. It’s pretty user friendly, and it would definitely help achieve a cleaner crop. I also echo the suggestions of being able to sort the closet by color and other categories; the ability to update an image without having to re-upload the entire item and recreate the entry; the ability to save a draft; having a thumbnail calendar view of looks; and an internal blogging or micro-blogging tool (it would be nice if the user could choose to “publish” the entry, in the Facebook sense of the word, rather than have to create a discussion thread; and if the blog were set up to be image-friendly, people could post pictures about the way an outfit actually looked on, etc.). Hope the feedback is useful. As I said, having a blast on the site—thanks again! |

It'd be nice to be able to add an outfit into your packing list from your outfit view instead of having to go back and find each piece individually.

I also added this in a thread about the packing lists, but figured it could also fit under this topic.....
I was just checking out the packing list feature. I had assumed that you could choose looks that you created to add to the list (that was each individual item in the look would be added to the list). However, I do not think that there is currently a way to do that. I think it would be great if your looks could be included on the closet page when making a list, so that you can choose to add an entire outfit to the packing list, and not just individual items.. |

I would like the following:
1. When I enter my closet from my profile, everything is in alphabetical order, however when I enter from the drop down into "my wardrobe" it is not. I have added several sub-sections [ jewelry - earrings, jewelry-bracelets, etc] and comtemplate adding more to make browsing for items easier. May we please get the "wardrobe" in alpha order also? This would make things so much easier. 2. I recently photographed a dress in my real closet, spent 3 days in Paint Shop Pro editing and cleaning the photo before uploading. Within an hour my beautiful dress had been "borrowed" and used in a look by two others. I would like a "No Go" category, where noone could borrow an item in that category before I use it or without my approval. Each of us has an item in our wardrobe that is precious to us or has special meaning, which we would not let even our dearest friends borrow. It saddens me when members coop an item from my closet and use it in a manner that suggest they do not place the same value or sentiment in it that I do. To them it is just a free graphic, but to me it's the earrings my grammy made for me or the bag my parents had given me for my 21st birthday. It's not just a graphic to me! 3. I wish there was a pop up that appeared when we create looks, which would tell us when the last time we used a particular item was. Or how many times we had used a certain item. 4. I wish there was a pop up that would suggest items I could buy to compliment a particular item already in my wardrobe. I could mouse over a pair of earrings and a pop up would appear ....House of Lavende has an awesome bracelet that would go great with these ......or mouse over a dress and get ...Avelle has a great bag you could rent to accentuate this dress, etc. Respectfully, Kity |

HI girls, I love your feedback and input. Thank you for thinking critically about how we can make the CC universe better for you all.
Kity - Thank you for your list of items. I know most girls on the site borrow items because they too love what you have, and so much of what we are trying to do is help others find their style inspiration. I am not sure how quickly we can address this, but I would say that I hope you might take this is the HUGE flattery and admiration it is. For some of your more technical ideas, we would need some time to address them, so do be patient with us (and send Sheldon a powerbar and some gatorade as he is our engineer on duty and the magician of CC!) I agree, iPhone app is killer - imagine how fun it would be to snap a photo on the street, in the store, wherever, and have it magically appear in your closet. I LOVE IT! We are looking for some funding to make this and other improvements happen, and in this market, it takes longer than usual. Do bear with me, that is all I am doing these days is explaining the magic of CC for gals like us! I can't thank all of you enough for being loyal and wonderful CC members..... your lead on the site is really just fabulous. Keep your ideas coming, and as always, we will do our best to get what you want. xx Chris |

I saw and participated in the survey you recently posted about the site. I was thinking perhaps something a bit more open-ended would be beneficial. In an effort to assist you as you try to secure funding maybe you could start a new discussion where people could put their own comments on what they love about the site, how they use it, what they'd be looking for as it develops and what other services they would be willing to use if they were offered.
I'm thinking along the lines of using these 'testimonies' of sorts as proof that the current clientele would bring profits to future collaborators and/or financial backers and show that the business model is sustainable and strong. Personally I'd be more likely to purchase from online vendors if they were offered through this site and I'm sure there are other tie ins as well. Just a thought. I think any of the regular users would love to be supportive in any way we can to help the site grow. |

mkw013000 - thank you for your great idea - if you'd like, go ahead and start a forum thread, it would be great to hear what people love most about the site. And I am very glad to hear you are more likely to purchase from vendors through CC than elsewhere.
One way you all can help is to pass along the CC newsletter and encourage your friends to sign up for CC. That kind of growth is wonderful for us. And we are going to do our newsletter more frequently, so it will be easier. Thanks gals, xx Chris |

I would love if "new colors" or "new brands" that you enter on one item are available for selection then next time you edit an item.
Thanks for the great fun site. |

Michele,
What a great suggestion! Oh Sheldon, please make this one a reality, please. If I have to type in Vivienne Westwood one more time - I may resort to labeling her stuff "Vintage". (chuckles) |

HBlaise -
Yes, there is absolutely a way you can go into someone else's closet and save the look for them (or have them do this for you!). When you're in the dressing room creating a look, hit "Switch User" (next to the Save button). Create your look for them with items from their own closet and/or from others' to suggest new stuff. When you hit Save on this outfit, it will get saved to *their* own looks so they can find it - you can go to their member page to find it as well, and leave a comment with all you've done for them. Hope that helps! |

Yes! I want to go back and edit old "looks" I made with new items I uploaded. Also, I would like to be able to "re-categorize" an item after I've uploaded it. Thanks!

Would it be possible to add really classic jewelry pieces to the CC closet? Like several sizes of pearl and diamond studs? Thanks!

I agree with babydrager as far as what I would use the iphone app for. I have the worst memory and having my closet accessible while I shop would rock ;)

I agree on the bit about being able to put in a new photo on items without having to delete the whole thing! I don't like how some of my pictures came out, and am trying to get my hands on a copy of photoshop to edit the images better, but would hate to have to resubmit all my notes, etc on each item.
