Any ideas on what to get a super stylish gal and her lovely husband as an engagement present? I'd rather go off-registry (daring, I know!) than get dish towels or the like, but am looking for something interesting and great.
What are the best presents like this that you have seen? thanks! |

Hi Chris,
I got my bridesmaids these amazing lucite trays from Iomoi customized with their initials. I think they would make the perfect engagement present. Check them out here: http://iomoi.stores.yahoo.net/trays.html |

I just gave the imoi tray to a few friends who got engaged and they LOVED it! Also, Barneys online has a few nice home items right now.

I'm a fan of anything from Tortoise on Abbott Kinney but am especially enamored of their glassware/barware. Two artfully crafted glasses send a lovely message, don't you think? Then wrap them in Japanese tenugui (traditional, multi-purpose printed cloths) from there as well: http://www.tortoiselife.com/

If you're feeling creative, maybe you could write a witty poem about your friend and her soon-to-be husband. One of my aunts did this for her niece on her 10th wedding anniversary, and even sang it in front of everyone. It was quite lovely, and very touching!

I think you must give a pair of Mugs with name as well as pic inscribed on it.. It would be lovely and also remembered everytime..
