My husband's birthday is at the beginning of next month and I am searching for a special gift. I want to get him something he needs, like clothes and shoes. He has not worn jeans since he was a teenager (he thinks they're "hideous") and prefers skinny pants or corduroys. I have given up on the jeans, but I'm searching for some nice slacks that have a slim vintage style cut. I would also appreciate any suggestions on shoes. He likes boots that lace up to the ankle, but that aren't too dressy. I've been thinking about the Stephin Merritt boots by Bluedy, but I don't have my heart set on them. Since it's a big birthday (he's turning the big 4-0), I want to get him something that has a WOW factor, but nothing ostentatious or over the top.
