I just watched the first episode of 90210 and i think this is a no brainer....gossip girl wins hands down. Here are a few of my issues (besides the writing/plot/clicheness)
1) I was completely distracted by the curly haired girl who looks incredibly similar to Jesse Spano (aka elizabeth berkely)....was this intentional? 2) As a native Southern Californian, I couldn't get used to watching the boys playing lacrosse--it just isn't a sport in LA. 3) The Peach Pit--the awesome old diner hangout--is now a club called the Pit--are they serious?? 4) A teacher at the highschool referenced Koi while asking about the meaning of a Haiku. I can keep going..... |

I couldn't even make it through the second hour of 90210. I think part of the problem is the production value seems much lower than that of Gossip Girl.
Overall, I think Gossip Girl is fantastic and this is 99% because of the clothes! |

Ladies, I agree completely! Anne, I love all your notes, I picked up all the same things too. 90210 girls were SO fricking skinny too.

I hated - hated!! - 90210 last night. How annoying was the curly haired girl - I already blacked-out her name..... ? and I thought all the set ups were so obvious and just annoying.
I agree with the peach pit too - how depressing Nat was there cursing the cappuccino machine like some old relic who can't adapt. Ugh. Kill it. |

Safe to say there is NO contest between 90210 and GG?

The clothes on Gossip Girl, though they might be a bit unrealistic for high schoolers-even the kind in the Upper East side of NY, are way more pleasing to look at than on 90210. The girls on GG are also much more interesting than the ones on 90210.

Gossip girl defiantly wins! it's way more original too because so many teen shows have been done in L.A. Like the O.C etc..

Definitely Gossip Girl, upper east side vs. dramatic young LA teen with no style, come on now, don't even see competition!

Gossip Girl for sure. The clothes, the story lines, and lets face it, Leighton M. and Blake L. seem like stars...plus as mentioned before they actually have realistic (although toned and thin) bodies.

There is absolutely no qestion, Gossip Girl is far better television.
90210 is just another show about teenagers in LA getting up to the same mischief in the same kind of way. At least Gossip girl has better; Fashion Actors Storylines Originality although its a little far fetched, Gossip girl is far less predictable and cliche. |

Original 90120 was amazing; I still watch the reruns, however the new one just sucks. I saw the premiere and after an half and a half I had to turn it off. Hands down, Gossip Girl wins, no reasons needed to back my opinion.
