I have a job interview in Paris coming up and would like to find out what's appropriate to wear at a lunch meeting. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

This is one I can weigh in on. I would for sure recommend wearing a skirt and top that have a sophisticated flair about them. Doesn't have to be a suit, per se, but for sure, no stockings. Bare legs are fine. Also - this is a great place to add a little flair - a chic scarf or beautiful pin - something that reveals your individual style. Pantsuits are a bit tough in Paris - they tend to scream AMERICAN and are not so commonly worn in an interview.

Good luck - and remember - lots of streets in Paris are cobblestone - beware the stiletto heel!

still believe you can't go wrong with a little black dress and a fab bag and shoes

I agree with Chris that a chic scarf or pin is a wonderful way to accessorize and show individual style in Paris. Definitely a firm non to the suit idea, trop américaine! When I worked in Paris I wore lots of tailored sheath dresses, sweater sets, and ballerina flats. You couldn't go wrong with a DVF wrap dress...

How excited are you! Definitely agree about a skirt. Go high waisted with a thin/silk blouse tucked in and a cool blazer to top it off. A silk scarf could be a great accent, try tying bandana-wise or folding all way up diagonal so that when tied at the back it sits almost like a necklace. We love mixing navy and black, ESPECIALLY in Paris! dark grays as well. Some of the styling in the fall J.Crew catalog is quite chic and could be an accessible inspiration. As well as the styling in Jenni Kayne’s fall line which is incredible!:

Finally, and quite importantly, wear your most amazing shoes. Shoes are important in Paris, people notice them!

Wow, thank you all for your advice. I didn't know pants suits are not welcomed in Paris!

I've put together a interview look in my album, something simple. Take a look and and rate it. I seriously don't know if it's too formal!

I totally agree, pants suit is being frown upon in Paris. Wear a skirt or a dress!

Mmmm, that is a very chic outfit indeed. But it all depends on the context. Are you interviewing for an executive position in a conservative or a creative industry?
