Elisabetta
| Real Name: | Margot Chris |
| Occupation: | Self-empolyed |
| City: | Paris and New York |
| State: | New York |
| Current Look: | I live in Paris, but spent eight years in New York and just came back from a summer spent in New England, French Polynesia and St. Tropez. In short: my life is all over the place, and so is my wardrobe. Because really? Let's not pretend that one "look" will suffice in such utterly disparate locales..as obnoxious as it sounds, what works at Club 55 doesn't really fly at the Annisquam Yacht Club. |
| Beloved childhood look: | I was moved by Little Orphan Annie - in her post-Daddy Warbucks incarnation...the tattered rags in muddy tones didn't really do it for me. Whatever. I'm a Libra. Needless to say I greeted my first day of first grade sporting a red and white dress and patent leather shoes. Sadly my request for a dog resembling Sandy was denied, which smarts to this day. |
| Debilitating childhood look: | Back in the day, New England mothers weren't really into well heating their houses - and an "I'm cold!" brought merely a frown and the instruction to "put on a sweater" -- whether one was already wearing a sweater or not. The lasting trauma of being turned into a static electricity factory by being stuffed into multiple layers of shetland wool was never taken into consideration - with tragic results. I do my best to be as green as possible, but now that I can turn up the thermostat myself, I must confess to a lasting love of wearing chiffon in January. |
| Current Obsessions: | Closet Couture. And Chris Elia. |
| Inspirations: | '70's St. Tropez, 20's New York City, Equestrian chic, Paris, always. My friends, my mother. My little brother, the only one on the planet who mocks me for dressing like an 80 year old dowager and gets away with it. |
| Trend I'm Loving: | Fabulous coats! It's about time people realized that spending winter in the city can be a pleasure when you have amazing coats to entertain yourself with. Three cheers for patterns, for amazing sleeves, for embroidery and color. Three cheers for Etro! |
| Trend I could do without: | High waisted pants? Really? I'm not clear on why people feel they're attractive. And please, please stop wearing platform heels unless they're really exquisite. Seeing my friends shod like Penthouse Pets is borderline tragic. |
