Great stuff in your wardrobe, I'm jealous! Just a thought - did you try the background remover when uploading? It really works amazingly well on a flat surface, and your stuff would look even better when creating outfits!!

We are most creative when faced with obstacles to overcome. When feeling overwhelmed set boundaries for yourself and work with what you have. This is really true for me and this blog, I encourage anyone to do the same in your every day life.
Someone asked me today when I was explaining

about the blog, "How much money did you spend on clothes a year". I thought for a second wow thats a great question something I try to forget because I always convince myself that I needed that pair of shoes or that jacket. So by justifying it, it seemed ok to pay X amount of dollars for it. But Honestly I would have to say that in the last year I

spent about $4,000 to $5,000. But my entire wardrobe of things I've collected over time I would have to say on the upwards of $9,000. This is a fairly rough estimate, I'm not 100% sure. My shopping style is probably a lot different then most people. I like walking in every single shop when I'm out.

About Me

If life could be measured in the clothes that we wear would we change what we wore? To put something into perspective we relate it to tangible, materialistic goods that we can hold and touch. We then can put a value or worth to it. When thinking back to all the clothes I've purchased the ones that I cherished the most were the unexpected ones you never expected to find. Being inspired by something gives us life and motivation for a fresh day. If we become more conscious of what what we wear like we monitor our diets we could theoretically change our mood and our overall attitude.

I'm going to try an experiment. With the start to a new quarter and chapter to my life beginning July 13th I am going to document everything that I wear for 365 days. Now this in itself is not that life altering so for an extra kick i will not purchase any clothing, accessories, shoes, etc. for the next year. I have thought about this before, and have tried it on a short term bases. But now i'm going to take it seriously as an independent study.
So obviously there needs to be some sort of guide lines to follow.

- I can not buy any clothing, accessories, or shoes for the next year.

-If I really want something bad enough I can make it. I can purchase new materials but I have to 100% make it. (being a fashion designer I'm able to do this so it will force me to make my own clothes which i should be doing already)

- I can alter any pre existing clothes that i own already into something else. Either using the material for something else or just taking in or letting out a garment.

- I can borrow items of clothing from a friend.

- Also if I absolutely have to I can buy something second hand but have to give something up of same value.

- I can receive gifts that are clothing, accessories, and shoes only on my birthday which is September 18th or for Christmas.

The goal of this experiment is to save money, create less waste, practice documenting and writing, and Development of my own personal style over time. Somethings you can look forward to me writing about is my opinion on new trends, runway shows, what I learned that day, helpful tips, what i'm currently working on, and any other pertinent information I want to share. I'm going to update my Facebook, and I set up an account on clothingcouture.com where I have uploaded all of my wardrobe. You can follow me on either place if you go to clothing couture you can create outfits for me! Feel free to comment on any disliked or liked outfits or pick out an outfit for upcoming events!
