Classic, but with a creative edge. There isn't a shade of black or gray that I don't like, though I'll punch up an outfit with amazing shoes or a statement necklace. I'm happiest in heels, but barefoot will do in a pinch. |
| Beloved childhood look: |
I had a pair of red overalls that my mother made for me. She had sewn an enormous butterfly on the bottom in such a way that when I walked, the wings flapped. It was the worst day of my life when I outgrew the butterfly pants. I was four and remember crying bitterly over the loss of my look. |
| Debilitating childhood look: |
Laura Ashley, puffed sleeves, social pariah. |
| Current Obsessions: |
Statement necklaces. Sweet Moses, I'm going to move my husband out of his closet just so that I can have a place to store all of my treasures. |
| Inspirations: |
Isabel Dupre, Rachel Bilson, Gwyneth Paltrow, wardrobes on Rear Window and A Touch of Mink |
| Trend I'm Loving: |
There are SO MANY great shoes out right now, it's hard to narrow down my loves. I think what I love the most about fashion right now is that people are moving out of the "it" mentality and really just expressing who they are through their clothes. |
| Trend I could do without: |
Harem pants and leggings. Just, no. High-waisted anything. If you have hips, these are just insulting. I'm on the fence about jumpsuits. |
About Me
I'm a frustrated stylist, meaning I'm the friend everyone comes to for help with their clothes, yet you can often find me in jeans and a t shirt, though I'll always add in some kick ass accessories. I do what I can to keep my uniform interesting.
I enjoy shopping for others more than for myself. I just look at Vogue and Elle and point at things and go, "I WANT THIS!" and then hope that it will appear in my wardrobe via osmosis. No such luck yet, but here's to hoping.
